Just the Facts:
Review Building Edition

What You Get In Our System:

  • Physical postcards that you can leave with customers after work is complete. The postcard has a QR code or domain url that forwards into your Google My Business page where reviews are made.
  • Email or Text review solicitation. Depending on your preference we can reach out using either technique.
  • Human management. Our review specialists will monitor and activate review building for you and respond to questions. We will also alert you to any questions or situations that might warrant additional attention.

How Review Building Works

  • We set up a private spreadsheet where you share basic customer details as you complete service with them. If you believe a customer is a bad fit for review building, you can simply leave them off of our shared spreadsheet and we will not reach out to them.
  • We enter your customer into our review building system. Depending on your preference they will receive emails or text messages asking for a review. We generally recommend building reviews on Google first, and then sites like Facebook and Yelp second.
  • Our system is built so that individuals who click to review are no longer solicited for a review. Individuals who do not interact with your email or text receive 1-2 follow-ups and then are retired from the system.
  • We only solicit honest reviews from real customers. This protects you from long-term brand damage and Google penalties (you never want to trick customers into leaving positive reviews or purchase fake reviews).

Invest in Review Building if...

  • You want potential new customers to trust you more
  • You want to protect against occasional bad reviews with lots of positive reviews
  • You want an SEO boost (reviews are a signal in overall SEO for your website)
  • You work with Google Local services (or other websites like Trane.com) that pull in your review database.

Avoid Review Building if...

  • You already have a massive database of reviews (reviews in the thousands have diminishing returns)
  • You have an internal review solicitation system and do not need assistance
  • You need immediate sales and not long term branding (try Google Local Services instead)

Can Apsos remove negative reviews?

Generally no, we do not have the ability to remove negative reviews. However, we can submit reviews for reconsideration to sites like Google or Yelp if you believe they were made in error or were intentionally misleading. If the review is inflammatory (cursing, explicit content, etc.) we have a better chance of success at getting it removed.

How many reviews is considered “enough”?

We recommend getting over 100 reviews. If you have a larger company with larger competitors we recommend a few hundred. That is generally enough to receive SEO and user trust benefits.

DO NOT DELETE
Which sites/search engines can Apsos focus on for review generation?

Our primary point of focus is Google, with Facebook and Yelp as secondary locations. If there are other websites you are interested in we will determine our ability to drive reviews on a case-by-case basis. Just reach out with your ideas and we can discuss it.

Will Apsos respond publicly to reviews?

No, we try our best not to speak for your company. We can alert you to reviews that might need your attention. We recommend keeping your responses positive and productive while still being honest about your perspective. Overly critical or negative responses can actually drive more potential customers away than the original review.

Can I re-order more review postcards if I run out?

Yes, we keep your postcard design on file so if you need more we can order you more. There will be a small fee but these cards are inexpensive.

Should I choose email or text message for my review solicitation?

This is a pros/cons kind of decision. Here are some factors:

  • Text messages are opened more than emails and get more responses
  • Emails are considered less invasive than text messages
  • It’s considered more acceptable to do follow ups via email
